A man's body was found near the base of Alberta Falls on Wednesday/Kurt Repanshek

A hiker at Rocky Mountain National Park was found dead Wednesday at the base of a rock outcrop roughly 200 feet below Alberta Falls.

Park officials said the 33-year-old man's body was discovered about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and rangers who responded confirmed the fatality.

There were no witnesses and the incident is under investigation, though foul play is not suspected, a park release said.

The man'™s body was flown to a landing zone near the Glacier Basin Campground and transferred to the Larimer County Coroner's Office. The man's name and hometown were to be released after next of kin had been notified.
