Not Everyone Thrilled By President's Budget Proposal

While quite a few newspapers across the country are heralding the president's proposed FY08 budget for the National Park Service, if you look beneath the veneer you'll find that not everyone is applauding what he wants to do.
For instance, Doug Troutman, an NPS retiree, recently wrote the Klamath Falls Herald and News to add his two cents to the budget analysis. And what he had to say was anything but kind to the proposal.
We will have a “Ranger Program” in Tehran long before the National Park Service sees any real benefit for domestic “Ranger Programs” from a Bush budget, writes Troutman in a letter-to-the-editor.
